A Visit to the Model Home at Altos de Yariguíes: What to Look at Slowly

Picture an ordinary Saturday. A couple leaves Bucaramanga on the old road to Barrancabermeja, passes the La Renta rest stop and, 50 minutes later, drives through the gate at Altos de Yariguíes. They have seen photos and floor plans, but today they want something different: to step inside a real house. It is a hypothetical scene, but very close to what happens when someone decides to visit the model home, which is already built and open for in person tours.

The first thing that changes: you stop imagining and start checking

On a plan, a bedroom is a rectangle. Inside a finished house it is light, texture and distance. In the model home you can walk through the living room, the dining room, the integrated kitchen, the bathroom and the main bedroom, open the doors to the terrace and look out toward the lake. My suggestion is to take your time and ask yourself simple questions: how does the light change through the day, how does the space feel with several people in it, what would you change if it were your home? Those answers are worth more than any brochure.

What surrounds the house matters too

A house does not live alone. Before or after going inside, look at what surrounds it: the paved roads, the solar powered street lighting, the underground electrical wiring and the drinking water point with its own treatment plant. All of it is already built, not promised. A few steps away is the social club, with its panoramic pool looking straight out at the reservoir, the social bar, the ecological trails through native forest and a park for pets. If you bring your dog, you know where to stop.

Useful questions before you leave

The model home is a reference, not an obligation. If you decide to build, you can do it with Proyecto Girasoles or with another construction company, as long as the owner's manual is respected. Ask about that manual, about the stage the lot you like belongs to, and about the developer's direct financing, with no banks or intermediaries: up to 7 months in Stage 1, and in Stage 2 up to 40% of the lot's value over 22 months, depending on the lot you choose. Every lot is delivered with its own independent title deed, priced from $395,000,000 to $550,000,000 COP depending on location, view and topography, and a lot can be reserved starting at $20,000,000 COP.

If you cannot travel yet, each stage has a 360 degree virtual tour filmed on site. But my honest recommendation is this: a model home is best understood by walking through it. Go with time, with questions, and with whoever will live there with you.
