When someone asks me what Altos de Yariguíes has, they usually expect a list. Pool, bar, courts, trails. The list helps, but over the years I have learned to read it differently. An amenity on paper says nothing about whether it will actually get used. So when I walk someone through evaluating a country club, I suggest checking the amenities in a specific order, and I want to share it with you.
First: what is already built
Before anything else, I would look at what exists today and what is only a promise. At Altos de Yariguíes, the paved roads, the solar powered street lighting, the underground electrical wiring and the drinking water supply point with its own treatment plant are already built, not planned. The model home is finished and open for tours too. It is a simple rule: what you can touch on a visit weighs more than what appears on a plan.
After that, I would go through the social club like this: the panoramic pool with a direct view of the reservoir, the social bar, the dog park, the soccer field and the beach volleyball court. None of it is complicated, and that is exactly why it works. These are spaces for being with family and friends without planning a full program.
Second: what you would use on a normal weekend
The question I like to ask is: what would you do on an ordinary Saturday, with no special guests and no event? That is where amenities earn their place. A walk on the ecological trails through native forest. A while by the pool looking at the water. An afternoon of ball games with the kids. And if you want something more active, the reservoir's water sports facilities are 500 meters away, with kayak, paddleboard, jet ski and wakeboard.
If, when you picture that Saturday, you see yourself using three or four of those things, the amenity is real for you. If you do not see yourself using any of them, it does not matter how long the list is.
Third: what you do not see but you feel
There is a category almost nobody writes down: peace of mind. Altos de Yariguíes has two controlled access gates, a main one on the old road to Barrancabermeja and an auxiliary one on the main road. It is not a flashy amenity, but it is one of the most appreciated when you arrive with your family or leave your lot for a while.
