What the Master Plan Doesn't Show: The Trail and the Waterfall at Altos de Yariguíes

Natural waterfall between rock walls and a pool of water near Altos de Yariguíes

When someone asks me to explain Altos de Yariguíes, I almost always start with the hard facts: 138 residential lots, from 1,250 m², each with its own independent title deed. That is the right place to start, because a decision this size should rest on clear paperwork. But if you ask what I value most about the place, the answer does not fit on a master plan: it is the trails and the waterfall.

A plan shows lots, not the forest around them

The master plan for each stage shows the roads, the blocks and the social area. What a plan cannot draw is the native forest that the project's ecological trails run through. To me that difference matters. A lot is measured in square meters, but the place around it is lived at another scale: the shade, the sound, the chance to take a walk without getting in a car.

That is why I keep telling people who are evaluating a lot not to stop at the numbers. The numbers are necessary, and they are all on the project page, but they are no substitute for standing on the land.

The waterfall is part of what surrounds the project

Among the nearby experiences we show in the project gallery, with real photos and video rather than renders, is a natural waterfall. I do not mention it as a sales decoration. I mention it because it changes the kind of weekend you can plan: not everything has to revolve around the reservoir, even though the water sports facilities are only 500 meters away. Some days are for walking, or for bringing family or friends somewhere the star of the day is nature.

And here is something that is my opinion, not a fact: places with several reasons to visit keep getting used over time. A property that offers only one thing gets repetitive. One that offers a reservoir, trails, a waterfall, horseback riding and ATVs gives you different reasons to come back.

How I suggest you see it

If you decide to visit, I suggest you do not only tour the lots. Ask to see the model home too, which is already built and open for visits, and leave time for the trails. Ask about the owner's manual, the document that sets the rules for building, whether you build with Proyecto Girasoles or another construction company. And if you want to take it slowly before traveling, you can start with the 360° virtual tour of each stage, filmed on site.

I believe in Altos de Yariguíes because the infrastructure is already built, the paperwork is clear and the financing is direct. But what makes me recommend it with confidence is what you feel when you walk the place, and that only makes sense once you go.

Come and walk it yourself
